Learner Characteristics:

*Individuals enrolled at Five Keys Charter School, which is an adult high school program.

​

*All learners are identified as Special Education students who have active IEP’s (Individualized Education Plans)

​

*Learners are all male between the ages of 18-22

​

*Learners are all currently incarcerated and are housed inside Los Angeles County Men’s jail facilities.

​

*Prior knowledge of transitioning varies among learners.

​

*Learners display various abilities to cognitively think critically through the transition process, defend their reasoning and organize their thoughts to make the transition plan applicable to their personal lives. 

 

*Self-efficacy will be measured in two ways:

                   1) Enrolling in course (which is not required)

                   2) Completion of pre-assessment survey.

​

*Value is addressing attainment/importance

                   1) All learners are interested in leaving the jail environment, but the                           interest varies in regards to creating a transition plan.
